Personal Attention for Great Results

Whether you’re new to exercise, returning after a long break, or have been following a regular routine for years, we are here to help you.

You'll be assigned a dedicated personal fitness instructor, who will guide, motivate and support you, and help you adapt and extend your workout as your personal fitness improves.

Your personal instructor will meet with you regularly on a one-to-one basis to ensure that your program is helping you to achieve your goals, and make changes to your program as you improve. We consider this ongoing care as an integral part of your membership with us, there are no additional charges for these facilities!

Day One - Blue Program

Your personal instructor will chat with you about your fitness goals and targets, find out how much time you can spend on your fitness schedule, and discuss any health concerns or worries you may have about starting to exercise. Your instructor will then measure and assess your current levels of fitness. This is so that we can tailor your programme to meet your individual needs. You should allow 30 to 45 mins for this - most people find they have a lot more to talk about than they expect.

Next its down to the gym, where your instructor will take you through your initial exercise program. We'll make sure you know how to do the exercises safely, teach you how to operate the exercise machines you'll be using for your first program, and tailor the difficulty of each exercise to your personal levels of fitness and flexibility.

Don’t worry if its a lot to take in at once – we won't just rush you through an induction and leave you alone to get on with it. Most beginners will start by learning some great stretching exercises, the cardio machines, and just a few of the resistance (strengthening and toning) workouts.

Mix in a selection of the fun exercise classes for conditioning and flexibility, and you'll be well on the way to a balanced fitness program, that adapts to your schedule and lifestyle.

Week Four - the first Program Review

Every time you come to the Fitness Centre, you use your personal fitness card to record your progress, and tick off whether you followed your program in the gym or attended an exercise class.

After 10 visits your instructor will check your program with you, and now that you're fitter, increase the resistance levels or offer alternative exercises to keep you on target to achieve your fitness goals.

As you progress through your personal fitness development program, your dedicated personal instructor will teach you about the safe and effective use of all of the additional equipment and exercise routines you will need at each stage. By the end of a year you’ll be familiar and comfortable using all of the facilities and equipment - even the dumbells and barbells, when you're ready!

If you start getting bored with any of your exercises, have a chat to your personal instructor for some tips to keep you motivated. Or take part in one of the gym challenges that are regularly displayed for some friendly competition with the instructors and other members.

Three Months - Review, Measure, and Gifts!

After 30 visits to the gym you will have completed your Blue Program and be ready to go on to the next stage. Your peronal instructor will assess your new level of fitness and you will be able to compare these results with your initial assessment to see how you have improved. And if you have completed all 30 visits within 3 months your personal instructor will reward you with a complimentary sports gift.

Now it's time to sit down and chat about a new set of fitness goals for the next 3 months. Your personal instructor will introduce some more advanced exercises for your new Red Program to keep you on track for the next 3 months. With reviews after every 10 visits again and another fitness assessment after 30 visits you can build on the great results you achieved on the Blue Program
